Things to Do Around OKC: October 9–12, 2026
Pumpkins, Fall Festivals, Church Festivals & Other Fall Fun
I’m using AI to search for things to do around the OKC area. I figure it’s a good way to practice what my grandkids are doing online and, hopefully, learn how to Twittertoc the FaceSpace properly.
There’s a lot of stuff out there worth checking out, but let’s be real—not all of us have millions of dollars sitting around to blow on every shiny new thing.
So this week I decided to lean heavily into fall festivals, pumpkin patches, pumpkins for sale, and family-friendly events. If somebody has a hayride, a pumpkin, a corn maze or a church parking lot full of kids running around with painted faces, I’m interested.
This is not a complete list by any stretch. I’m just sharing what I can find for the amount of time it takes me to hit a button.
And if you know of something I missed—especially a church pumpkin festival, fall festival or inexpensive family event—please tell us about it.
So, here we go!
🎃 PUMPKINS & FALL FESTIVALS FIRST
🎃 St. Matthew's Annual Pumpkin Festival — Midwest City
Saturday, October 10 • 9 a.m.–3 p.m.St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 300 N. Air Depot Blvd., Midwest City
This one gets a special shout-out.
St. Matthew’s is holding its annual Pumpkin Festival, and this sounds like exactly the kind of community event I like finding.
There will be pumpkins galore, games, crafts, baked treats, books, toys, gently used kitchenware, jewelry, handmade goods and more.
Even better, proceeds support “Pumpkins with a Purpose” community grants.
So if you’re in or around Midwest City and want to buy a pumpkin while supporting a local church and community projects, this is a pretty good Saturday stop.
My kind of pumpkin shopping: buy a pumpkin, eat a baked good and convince yourself the other stuff you bought was for a good cause.
🎃 Pumpkinville: Road to Route 66 — Downtown OKC
October 1–25Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W. Reno Ave., OKC
Pumpkinville is back, and this year the theme is Route 66.
Expect thousands of pumpkins and gourds, giant pumpkin displays and Route 66-inspired decorations featuring Oklahoma landmarks and other roadside attractions.
This weekend:
Friday, Oct. 9: 10 a.m.–8 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 10: 10 a.m.–8 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 11: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 12: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Pumpkinville admission is $9 online / $10 at the gate for ages 3+. Kids 2 and under are free.
There’s also an all-inclusive option that includes Crystal Bridge and unlimited Mo’s Carousel rides.
If you want pumpkins without driving to a farm, this is probably the easiest downtown option.
🎃 Orr Family Farm Fall Festival
14400 S. Western Ave., Oklahoma City
This is the big one if the grandkids want ALL THE THINGS.
Orr Family Farm has its pumpkin patch along with hayrides, fall photo opportunities, a maze, animal barnyard, train rides, carnival rides, slides, jumping pillows, pedal cars and plenty of other farm attractions.
This weekend:
Friday, Oct. 9: 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 10: 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 11: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 12: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
The 2026 preseason admission price starts around $16.95, with additional attractions available through the Super Pass.
Pumpkins are extra.
In other words: you can go there for a pumpkin, but the children will probably have other financial plans for you.
🎃 WINGS Fall Festival & Pumpkin Patch
Friday & Saturday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.Sunday, 1–6 p.m.1349 E. Wilshire Blvd., OKC
WINGS has one of the better budget-friendly fall events around town.
Admission is $8, or $28 for a family four-pack, and kids 2 and under are free.
The festival includes:
Pumpkin train rides
Inflatables
Petting zoo
Games
Pumpkins for sale
Fall activities
WINGS member-made items for sale
The 2026 festival runs through Oct. 18, so this is another good choice for this weekend.
And I especially like this one because your money is helping support the WINGS community.
🎃 Walnut Woods — Edmond
Saturday & Sunday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.5217 W. Simmons Rd., Edmond
Walnut Woods is another nice choice if you're looking for something that feels more like a fall day in the country.
There are pumpkins, hayrides, animals, a maze, giant slides, swings, games and photo opportunities.
Admission is $10 per person. Children 2 and under and adults 65+ are free.
This is one I'd put on the list for grandparents who want fall without quite as much carnival chaos.
🎃 The Patch Pumpkin Palooza — Edmond
Saturday, October 10 • 10 a.m.–5 p.m.The Patch, 16315 N. MacArthur Blvd., Edmond
The Patch is having a special Pumpkin Palooza Saturday.
Expect a full day of fall activities, pumpkins, family fun, fall photo opportunities, hay rides and local vendors.
If your goal is simply to find something that screams PUMPKIN!, this belongs on the list.
🎃 Parkhurst Pumpkin Ranch — Arcadia
720 S. Henney Rd., Arcadia
If you're willing to drive northeast of town, Parkhurst Pumpkin Ranch is another solid fall option.
The 2026 season runs through Nov. 8 and includes:
Pumpkin patch
Petting zoo
Tractor rides
Mazes
Fun Fort
Games
Pony rides
Food and treats
Regular fall hours include Saturday 10 a.m.–dark and Sunday noon–dark, with additional Thursday and Friday hours.
This is more of a make-a-day-of-it pumpkin destination.
🎃 Chester's 25th Annual Pumpkin Patch — Piedmont
5201 Cimarron Rd. NW, Piedmont
Chester's is celebrating its 25th annual Pumpkin Patch this year.
The patch includes a giant round-bale maze, hay mountain, petting zoo, tractor and pony rides and other family activities.
The 2026 season runs through Nov. 1.
Hours are generally:
Tuesday–Saturday: 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
Sunday: 1–6 p.m.
Closed Monday
If you're looking for a traditional farm-style pumpkin patch, Chester's is worth the drive.
🍂 MORE FALL FESTIVALS & FAMILY EVENTS
✈️ El Reno Air Show & Community Day
Saturday, October 10 • 10 a.m.–3 p.m.El Reno Regional Airport, 6600 S. Mustang Field Rd., El Reno
This one isn't pumpkins, but it sounds like a pretty good family outing—and it's FREE.
The annual El Reno Air Show includes aircraft from different eras, aerobatic performances, food trucks, vendors, helicopter rides and historic aircraft displays.
Gates open at 10 a.m.
If you've got somebody in the family who thinks pumpkins are nice but airplanes are REALLY COOL, this may win the weekend.
🍂 McCloud Fall Fest
Saturday, October 10 • Noon–6 p.m.McCloud
The McCloud Fall Fest brings together a chili cook-off, car show, food trucks, craft vendors, inflatables, live music and a free kids zone.
It's a little farther out, but still within the general 30-mile-or-so OKC weekend radius.
And free kids activities plus chili is a combination I am always willing to investigate.
🌮 Hispanic Festival at Scissortail Park
Saturday, October 10 • 4–10 p.m.Scissortail Park, 300 SW 7th St., OKC
The Hispanic Festival celebrates Hispanic and Latino cultures with music, dance, food, art and community activities.
It's a good Saturday evening option if you've already spent the afternoon buying pumpkins and need somewhere to go after you've loaded them into the car.
👻 GHOUL'S NIGHT! on the Plaza
Friday, October 9 • 6–10 p.m.Plaza District, NW 16th between Classen & Penn
The Plaza District gets into Halloween mode Friday night.
There will be themed activities, food, music, shopping, art and plenty of creepy stuff happening along 16th Street.
Admission is free.
This one is more Halloween than pumpkins, and it's probably better suited to older kids, teens and adults than toddlers.
🎃 Frontier City Kids Boo Fest
Select dates through Oct. 31
Frontier City is running Kids Boo Fest on select days, including this weekend.
It's the daytime, family-friendly Halloween version, with treats, characters and activities.
If the kids aren't ready for the full scary Fright Fest experience, this is the one to look at.
⛪ A SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT TO THE CHURCHES
One thing I've decided to look for when putting these lists together is church-sponsored fall festivals.
Why?
Because they are often some of the best places to find inexpensive—or completely free—family activities.
And churches are frequently the folks who put on the kind of old-fashioned fall event that includes things like games, food, hayrides, pumpkin decorating and children running around until somebody's mother says, “That's enough.”
⭐ This weekend's church pick:
St. Matthew United Methodist Church — Midwest City
Their Annual Pumpkin Festival is Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
That's the one I'd circle on the calendar if you're specifically looking for a church + pumpkins + community + inexpensive family outing.
I'll keep looking for more church fall festivals as October goes along. Some churches don't get their events listed very far in advance, so this is one category where local tips are especially helpful.
🧺 FARMERS MARKETS
If pumpkins aren't enough and you also need vegetables, bread, honey, baked goods or something you can tell yourself is “for the grandchildren,” there are still several farmers markets running.
Edmond Outdoor Farmers Market
Saturday • 8 a.m.–1 p.m.Downtown Edmond
Farmers Market at Scissortail Park
Saturday • 9 a.m.–1 p.m.Scissortail Park
Saturday Farmers Market
Saturday • 9 a.m.–2 p.m.OKC Farmers Public Market, 311 S. Klein Ave.
The Saturday Farmers Market also has a Seniors First shopping hour from 9–10 a.m.
📅 IF I WERE PLANNING THE WEEKEND...
Friday, Oct. 9
🎃 Pumpkinville during the day🎃 Orr Family Farm if you want a longer evening👻 GHOUL'S NIGHT on the Plaza, 6–10 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 10
⛪ St. Matthew's Pumpkin Festival in Midwest City🎃 Pumpkinville🎃 The Patch Pumpkin Palooza🎃 WINGS🎃 Orr Family Farm✈️ El Reno Air Show🍂 McCloud Fall Fest🌮 Hispanic Festival that evening
That's enough choices to wear out the grandchildren without driving halfway across Oklahoma.
Sunday, Oct. 11
🎃 Pumpkinville🎃 Orr Family Farm🎃 WINGS🎃 Walnut Woods🎃 Parkhurst Pumpkin Ranch👻 Frontier City Kids Boo Fest
Monday, Oct. 12
Don't forget that Monday is still a good fall-outing day.
🎃 Pumpkinville — 10 a.m.–5 p.m.🎃 Orr Family Farm — 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
So if you've got the day off, Monday may actually be the sneaky-good day to do the pumpkin thing without the Saturday crowds.
🎃 MY SHORT LIST
If I had to narrow all of this down:
Best Midwest City choice:⛪ St. Matthew's Pumpkin Festival
Best inexpensive pumpkin/fall event:🎃 WINGS Fall Festival
Best downtown pumpkin experience:🎃 Pumpkinville
Best “wear the kids out” destination:🎃 Orr Family Farm
Best traditional pumpkin-patch feel:🎃 Chester's or Parkhurst
Best free family outing:✈️ El Reno Air Show
Best Friday night:👻 GHOUL'S NIGHT on the Plaza
Best Saturday evening:🌮 Hispanic Festival at Scissortail Park
And remember: check the event's page before loading everybody into the car. Weather, hours and ticket prices have a funny way of changing when you're already halfway there.
If you find a church pumpkin festival, fall festival or small-town event that I missed, send it my way. Those are exactly the kinds of things that are easy to miss when you're sitting here trying to Twittertoc the FaceSpace with artificial intelligence.
Happy fall, y'all—and may your pumpkins be round, your hayrides be dry, and your grandchildren refrain from explaining social media to you for at least one weekend.
